Tilton Industries was established in January 1977 in Weston, Ontario. At that time, in a 1,200 sqft unit, the company was capable of pretreatment, spraying and baking of aluminum parts. Spraying was performed strictly with manual handguns, and baking was accomplished using a batch oven.

Due to the steady increase in volume and demand in service in 1980, Tilton moved to 15 Toryork Drive in North York. This 23,000 sqft location boasted a series of 34 foot pretreatment dip tanks and a 50 foot in line bake oven. At this location, Tilton introduced Nordson automated spray equipment to the Horizontal conveyorized process. Tilton Coatings was born to make and tint custom colours.

Once again, due to the increasing need for service and dedication to customer satisfaction, it was time to expand the operation and increase capacity. In 1987 phase 1, a 21,000 sqft building was erected at 120 Summerlea Road, in the City of Brampton. This location housed a completely automated process, including a four stage automatic pretreatment system, two Ransburg turbo discs capable of painting extrusion up to 18 feet in length vertically and a combined gas fired dry off and bake oven.

Phase 2 of the expansion occurred in 1989, where a 58,000 sqft building addition was constructed. A new 1,300 linear foot horizontal paint line with state of the art automated equipment was built. This system includes turbo bells and reciprocating guns in a total of 6 spray paint booths. Recently we have added powder coating to complement our vast array of coating finishes.

Over the last quarter of a century, Tilton has satisfied the needs of the industry and customers. Tilton is extremely pleased with the tremendous diversification it can offer to its customers.
